Awarded County Major Scholarship to finance studies
1958 Worked on Vitamin B12 synthesis at Distiller Co., U.K. (Laboratory Technicians, summer vacation).
1959 Worked on phosphate content of yeasts, and type and quality of yeasts.
Distillers Co. U.K. (Laboratory technician, summer vacation).
1960 Worked on blood-iron analysis, and radioisotope tracers for location of brain tumours,
Hammersmith Hospital, London (Laboratory technician, summer vacation).
1961 Graduated B.Sc. Upper Second Class Honours in Chemistry, Imperial College, London
Awarded Associateship of the Royal College of Science, A.R.C.S
1961- Employed as Geochemist by the New Zealand Geological Survey;
1964 working in the Chemistry Department, Otago University, New Zealand.
1964 Awarded M.Sc. in Chemistry from Otago University.
Thesis on Trace Element Distribution in Soils, Plants and Stream Waters.
Published three research papers.
1965 Employed by the British Overseas Office as Geochemist in the Fiji Geological Survey.

Developed trace element analytical techniques in Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy.

Duties included: Research into food quality and its relationship to Biodynamic agricultural and production methods; supplement formulation, nutrition consultant; writing, information and magazine articles.
Studied Anthroposophical approach to medicine, naturopathy, nutrition and homeopathy.
